About Metropolitan Capital Strategies
Metropolitan Capital Strategies, LLC offers tactical investment solutions with a specialty in investment risk management. MCS is a certified Woman-owned Business Enterprise (WBE) in Virginia.
Our particular focus is loss avoidance combined with long term capital appreciation. Our unique strategy allows investment in any asset class, region or sector to provide clients with the necessary protection of capital, which when combined with appreciation allows portfolios to compound over time.
MCS clients include institutions, wealth advisors, and family offices seeking absolute return with low correlation to the major market indices and reliable protection of investor principal.
Protecting profits is key to the success of the strategy.
Dave Co-founded MCS in April 2007 to provide principal protection and asset appreciation through low risk tactical investments, to RIAs, wealth advisors, endowments, foundations and institutions. In the midst of the financial crisis in 2008, the MCS strategies proved their efficacy, protecting MCS clients from the pain of large negative returns. As noted in the firm’s nine plus year track record, the MCS strategies have continued to grow clients’ assets by adding appreciation to the accounts’ value at the market’s pre-crash peak in October 2007, rather than building on value remaining at the trough in March 2009. Because of his unique investment philosophy and the utilization of ETFs within the strategies, Mr. Schombert is a frequent panelist on risk management and ETF trading at industry conferences. David founded MCS after 11 successful years as a Vice President of Private Client Wealth Management in the Smith Barney division of CitiGroup Global Markets, Inc. Prior to Smith Barney he served as a financial risk analyst evaluating risk-reward on major contracts for numerous Fortune 500 Companies. Mr. Schombert received his B.S. in Finance from George Mason University
